・本部門では、本学において、もしくは他機関と連携し認知症ならびに老年病の研究を行っています。

主なテーマは以下の通りです。
①認知症の早期診断技法および治療法の開発・研究
認知症を早期に診断し、適切なケアに結びつけることは非常に重要です。しかし、どのような疾患もごく初期の段階で診断することは難しく、診断技法の開発・研究が求められています。最近ではアミロイドPETのような画像診断などバイオマーカーによるプレクリニカル期（臨床症状が出る前）の診断技法の開発・研究も行われていますが、認知機能低下を含む臨床症状の見極めをどのように行うか、特に高齢期に多く、罹患率の極めて高い認知症の診断には簡便かつ正確な技法の開発が求められています。そのため、本グループではもの忘れ外来および地域での認知機能検査を軸とした診断技法ならびに治療法の開発・研究に取り組んでいます。
