Hisatsugu Koshimizu, Ph.D.

Dr. Koshimizu graduated from the Faculty of Science (B.S.) and Graduate School of Science (Ph.D.) at Osaka University with a specialization in neuroscience. After working as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the USA, he joined Fujita Health University in 2011. In 2018, he was appointed University Research Administrator (URA) to strengthen the research capacity of the University. From 2023, he has managed university research support as Head of the Office of Research Administration (ORA).



Charles T. Yokoyama, Ph.D.
Professor

Dr. Yokoyama studied at Michigan State University (B.S. Honors) and M.I.T. (M.S.). He did graduate work at Harvard Medical School and the University of Washington (Ph.D.). After a postdoctoral stint at Weill Cornell Medical School, he served as Senior Editor at Neuron, Director of Research Administration at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute, and Executive Director and Professor at International Research Center for Neurointelligence at The University of Tokyo. He joined Fujita Health University as a Professor in 2023.



Johannes M. Dijkstra, Ph.D.

Originally from the Netherlands, Dr. Dijkstra studied Biology specializing in Molecular Genetics. He earned a Ph.D. in virology. He joined Fujita Health University in 2004 and conducted research in immunology with a primary research specialty in the evolution of immune genes and molecules. In 2020, was appointed as a University Research Administrator (URA), supporting the research community with writing and publishing manuscripts and grants, organizes seminars, and other support for the university.



Mai Sugiyama, Ph.D.

Dr. Sugiyama graduated from both the Department of Biological Science (B.S.) and Graduate School of Medicine (Ph.D.) at Nagoya University School of Medicine. From 2011, she researched the molecular mechanisms of Notch signaling in neurogenesis, and in brain and ovarian cancers. In 2024, she joined Fujita Health University as a University Research Administrator, aiming to strengthen FHU research capabilities and support physician-scientists such as how to balance their clinical duties and research.



Yuko Ukai, M.S.

Ms. Ukai completed graduate work in education (M.S.) at Tohoku University with research interests including the management of grief care due to the experience of loss such as bereavement and disasters. In 2014, she joined the Department of Cardiology at Fujita Health University as a Research Assistant, and, in 2024. she joined the ORA as a Research Associate (Assistant), undertaking the challenge of creating support systems in the university for researchers and clinicians to produce high quality scientific results.
