Science Forum at Nobel Forum, Karolinska Institute
Thanks to Dr. Tsuneko Okazaki and JSPS, we had an opportunity to participate in Science Forum, held at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, on March 9, 2007. We presented our recent data obtained in the research activity at the Development Center for Targeted and Minimally Invasive Diagnosis and Treatment, 21st Century COE Program. The Nobel Forum, seating ~300 people, was the hall where the Nobel Prizes are announced to the press every year. Two graduate school students of our research team, Dr. Kanako Koishi-Pryor (D4) and Dr. Yoichi Nakajima (D3), gave ten minutes oral presentation. The title was gAnalysis of genes differentially expressed in placental tissue from severe pre-eclampsia (Kanako)h and gAnalysis of allergen-specific T cells in henfs eggs allergy (Yoichi)h. Their talks were very nice. Other three young researchers, Drs. Nobuko Oshima, Noriko Sato, and Masashi Nakatani, also presented nice platform talks there. They learned a lot by this lesson and this was undoubtedly a good experience to them.
