Sakura Fujita Walking Tour with International Students
On March 30th, Professor Shosuke Ito and Dr. Hans Dijkstra from URA Office together with the Center for International Relations Office organized a Sakura Walking Tour for international students. The tour was conducted in English, with Professor Ito and Dr. Dijkstra guiding students to nearby Hachiman Shrine and a few other shrines and temples around the campus area.
It was a great chance for international students to learn about Japanese culture and the university's history. They listened attentively to explanations about the Kamakura period, discovering how Futamurayama served as a stop along the route between Kyoto and Kamakura, and heard tales like the story of the Headless Jizo. From the observatory on Futamurayama, they enjoyed a lovely view of the campus and Nagoya City.
Though the cherry blossoms bloomed later than expected, it was still a pleasant spring day. They had lunch while taking in the blossoms just starting to bloom.
