Report on the Online Cross-Cultural Nursing Seminar
As part of international exchange efforts, the Faculty of Nursing held an online seminar with its MOU partner universities. The seminar took place on November 1 and 2, 2024, in collaboration with Khon Kaen University (Thailand), Universiti Malaya (Malaysia), and Kanagawa University of Human Services, with participation from 80 students.
From our university, 15 students from first to fourth year at the Faculty of Nursing participated in this event. Prior to the Seminar, our students joined English conversation lessons and learned about healthcare in Thailand from Thai exchange students.
On the first day of the Seminar, special lectures from each university were given on topics such as nursing innovation, the role of nurse practitioners, and oral care. On the second day, students conducted group work related to the lecture contents. They were divided into six groups across three themes, and members of each group shared screens to create slides. After the group work, they gave presentations on their own themes, including the characteristics of each country.
This was the fourth year of online seminars in collaboration with Khon Kaen University, along with the addition of two new universities, which further deepened cross-cultural understanding. We hope to continue these seminars, aiming to nurture students who are equipped with an international perspective and communication skills to engage with people from diverse cultures and values.
