On February 5, Professor Qian Zhang, Professor Zexiang Li, and 16 others from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) visited Fujita Health University.
Prof. Zhang and his colleagues visited the university and hospital facilities, and viewed the latest facilities of FHU with great interest.
They listened attentively to the explanation of robotic surgery and rehabilitation robots, and actively asked questions.
In a lecture held in the afternoon of the same day, Professor Zhang presented how to realize smart healthcare by utilizing the sensing capabilities of wearables and communication media, and Professor Li shared his rich experience in founding his own startup and supporting students in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
During the meeting with Chairman Kiyotaka Hoshinaga and other FHU executives, future collaboration between the two universities was discussed, and programs such as joint research and boot camps were proposed.
It is hoped that the combined knowledge of the two universities will promote research to address the various problems posed by an aging society with a declining birthrate.
