Preparation before Your Visit


VISA

In order to stay in Japan, obtaining visa may be required depending on your nationality and period of stay.
Please confirm if you are required to obtain visa to stay in Japan during your intended period.
Normally, it takes about 2 to 3 months for visa issuance.

If you required visa, please check with Japanese embassy in your country for more details.

Applying for Part-Time Working Permit

International students with the visa status of "Student" are legally permitted to work part-time up to 28 hours a week.
If you are thinking to do it to help finance your expenses during your study, please apply for "Permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted".
The application can be done at the airport when you arrive at Japan for the first time.

Fill out the form below prior to your departure to Japan and submit to an immigration inspector when you go through immigration process at the airport.

Please note that without the permit, it is illegal for students to work in Japan. The working hours and type of employment must be within the granted permission. It is forbidden to work in adult-entertainment industry. If above conditions are not met, you may be subjected to punishment, penalty (fined) or deportation. Please ensure to obtain the permit before starting any part-time activities.

If you missed your chance obtaining the permit at the airport, you can also apply for this permit at the Immigration Bureau.

National Pension Related

Your country might have an agreement with Japan in regard to National Pension system. If that is the case, to prevent double payment of premiums, please bring the Approval Certificate issued by your home pension office.

Accommodation

Please reserve your accommodation prior to your arrival.
Fujita Health University provides International Residence "Dormitory Fujita" for International Students.
If you wish to stay at the dormitory, please apply for through the acceptance department or Center for International Relations.
