The philosophy of Fujita Health University—“Create one solid principle of your own”—embodies the message of our founder, Dr. Keisuke Fujita, who exhorted us to pioneer a new age, using our own powers of creativity. Working on the basis of this philosophy, the Institute for Comprehensive Medical Science, established in 1972 (soon after the University was founded), has a group of full-time researchers, which is unique for a private medical school. In March 2015, the Institute was accredited as a Joint Usage / Research Center for Genes, Brain and Behavior by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The center engages in joint research support for the comprehensive and efficient functional analysis of brain-related genes, using comprehensive behavior analyses and a variety of advanced omics analysis techniques for researchers possessing genetically modified mice or drug-administered mice. Outcomes of these joint research projects will be published as academic papers; after publication, data will be entered into a database available to the public. In this way, we hope to be a center that engages in research to support individual researchers and significantly contributes to the wider research community. Thank you for your continued support.
