The center serves more than 25,000 patients each year and is one of the top hospitals in the nation. It not only has an ER team but also has an NCU (Neurointensive Care Unit) and CCU (Coronary Care Unit) as wells as an ability to treat all conditions.
Cancer Treatment
The university hospital has been designated as an “Area Cancer Medical Treatment Cooperation Base Hospital (High Level)”. It is the only hospital in the prefecture and one of only 14 hospitals in Japan to receive this designation. In the hospital, treatment plans utilize surgical treatment, radiological treatment, internal medical treatment and chemotherapy treatment.

More than 480 liver and kidney transplants have been performed. With 75 pancreas transplants along with the 257 organ donations to other medical facilities, Fujita is number one in Japan.
