Selective General Medicine - TOEFL Preparation Course※- 170 -Selective General Medicine - TOEFL Preparation Course※[教育目標] The Selective General Medicine Program is an integral part of the global international medical course at Fujita Health University and has been increasing in size and popularity during the last decade. This course will help students prepare more adequately for this special overseas program as well as answer any and all questions regarding placement, testing, scheduling and such. Students taking this course will not be required to take an interview placement test before going abroad. [ 評 価 ] Students should read the book and do homework and preparation activities before coming to class, making sure that any unknown vocabulary words have been identied. Reviewing the previous week’s information and reviewing again after class will help students successfully complete the course. Students should be very diligent with the video work given as homework.[コーディネーター] 正コーディネーター Steeve Plante 准教授(英語)[担当教員] Steeve Plante 准教授[教科書] 「Any Japanese – English TOEFL course book with grammar and test advice in Japanese is a welcome addition to the course.[推薦参考書] 「All materials will be provided by the teacher during the course」[授業内容] This course is for medical students in the early clinical phase of their studies who need to consolidate and expand their intermediate English ability while interacting with patients and foreign classmates and colleagues in a clinical setting during the Selective General Medicine Overseas Program. It is designed to provide general information about the iBT TOEFL test as well as details about the dierent sections of the test. In order to get the highest score possible for eligibility to the Selective General Medicine Overseas Program, students will experience, in the same order as the sections on the actual TOEFL, the four sections of the test (Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing). Strategies will be demonstrated for each section of the test with examples for all possible questions types and task types on the TOEFL. Practical exercises will follow so that students can use the specic strategies for each question or task. Students will have to take the TOEFL test at least once, more likely twice during the semester.
