英　　語- 117 -英　　語［教育目標］　今日、英語は、医学をはじめとするほとんどすべての学問領域において、公用語としての地位をもつに至っています。このような現状のなかでは、英語で書かれた文献を読んでそこから求める情報を得ることは、学問や研究を行っていこうとする者にとって不可欠のことです。そこでこの講義では、このように欠くことのできないものである英語文献読解の能力を養うことを目標とします。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　（久米祐介）　コミュニケーションの手段としての英語を、まず「聴いてわかる」「読んでわかる」ことを目標に、時事英語を題材として学習する。後の専門分野で必要となる英語の力の基礎を培うことを目標とする。（服部しのぶ）　The aims of this course are for students to improve their communicative ability with English, to increase their awareness of health and medical issues and to foster a lasting interest in medical English. Students will learn about health-related topics such as cancer, smoking, alcohol, stress and obesity and follow listening and speaking activities based on the content. Students will speak as much English as possible through pair and group-work activities, and by discussing the issues with their classmates and the teacher. There will also be two special video classes related to health issues talked about in the book. Testing will be done twice, a mid-term test (50%) and a nal test (50%). （Attendance and Lateness will be considered when assessing students’ grades.）（Steeve Plante）［　評　価　］　月曜日の授業（久米、服部担当）と火曜日の授業（プラント他担当）の各々の試験について合格の評価を得ることが、本科目合格の必要十分条件です。［準備学習（予習・復習等）］　各担当教員の指示に従うこと。
